What is a Trunk Show?

We probably will not find a literal translation for the meaning we give to this type of event. But if we want to define what a Trunk Show is, it is a private event in which several professionals participate, generally artisans, who show and sell their products directly to the customer.

It is a private presentation of products for privileged customers who can purchase products directly from the artist.

It could be said that most products are related to fashion, but currently, and given that there are more and more artisans from all sectors, they can also be extended to professionals in fields such as gastronomy, art, or decoration.

Trunk shows became fashionable in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s, when designers did not have a physical store and literally put their designs in trunks to present them on high-society floors to exclusive clients.

But really this trend evokes the 50s in the Paris Atelier, workshops where designers and creators showed their clients how they created their wonderful and elegant dresses, and the client had the opportunity to purchase them directly in the workshop.
