"Comebacks" in fashion - The case of Sonia Rykiel

Sonia Rykiel was an iconic French designer who left a mark on the global fashion industry. However, in 2007, Rykiel was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and decided to retire from fashion. But this did not stop her for long.

In 2008, Rykiel made a surprising comeback in collaboration with the French brand H&M to launch a capsule collection. This collaboration was a huge success and demonstrated that Rykiel still had a large following and admirers who were eagerly waiting for her return.

After the collaboration with H&M, Rykiel decided to make a more permanent return to fashion and launched a new collection in 2009. The collection was critically acclaimed and demonstrated that Rykiel's ability to create feminine and elegant garments was still relevant.

Rykiel's determination and resilience in her return to fashion after her Parkinson's diagnosis is truly inspiring. Despite facing great challenges, Rykiel decided not to give up and to continue doing what she loved.

Rykiel's comeback in 2008 was a reminder of her talent and ability to create unique and elegant designs that remained popular even after her temporary retirement from fashion.

Her determination and resilience are an example for all those who face challenges in their lives, reminding us that there is always a way to return to doing what we love.
